How Do I Meet People?

The George Street Church of Christ is not a place for spectators. It is a place for team members. Whether you are a five-year old child, a ninety-five year old grandmother, a busy mom, or a businessman with big responsibilities, we want you to be a part of our vibrant church community. Here is how you can learn, serve, and grow at our George Street Church.

Small Group Ministry

Often, small groups of people are better able to interact and learn about a topic than larger groups are. For that reason, George Street has small bible studies held on Sunday Evenings. The size of the group is anywhere from six to twelve. At times, they may be held during the week in homes if so desired.

Children’s Ministry

Each Sunday morning, children get to participate in their own classes. Bible lessons are taught in such a way that every child gets to participate and learn. Each of the class teachers is dedicated to study and preparation so that our youth will understand and retain the knowledge from God’s Word.

Teen Ministry

Our George Street Teens are always full of energy and lead hectic lives at times.  Many teens are heavily involved with school and sports in the community.  We have been striving to focus more on giving them the attention they need to maintain a strong Christian faith and the desire to keep God as a priority.  Our teens have a comfortable classroom to study, fellowship, and enjoy learning more from God’s Word with one another.  We plan events throughout the year to promote friendship, fellowship, and excitement about spending time together as Christians.

Young Adults

Life can get complicated once you cross that nebulous threshold into adulthood. There are complicated decisions. Bigger stakes. Serious relationships. And a whole lot more decisions. The young adult group of George Street Church provides a welcoming atmosphere for college and early-career aged young people.

Women’s Group

The George Street Women’s Groups gives the ladies in our church family special times of interaction. Our women’s group meets in several locations throughout our community for times of Bible study, prayer (and, of course, food). These groups provide a refreshing discipleship opportunity for the women in the church.

Shining Stars

This awesome group is dedicated for George Street’s 55 years and over crowd.  Our Shining Stars meet at least once a month for a Thursday night dinner.  They also have variety of events throughout the year to promote good Christian fun and fellowship.

We Care Ministry

Our Barnabas Team includes volunteers from throughout our church family that meet periodically as a group of encouragers. Members of this team spend time writing cards and letters to lift the spirits of those with life struggles and those in need of encouragement throughout our community.
