Summer Break?

146803241924669Summer is sure in full swing. I wonder if you have taken any time to slow down and enjoy the blessings of this season? Maybe you have been on vacation, at the pool, in the garden, on the ball fields, or simply on the porch sitting which is one of my favorites. But what about summer with the church? Have you taken a vacation from the Lord and the church? If so, just know that you are always welcome back at any season of your life. Our Lord and Savior never takes a vacation and is the God of all seasons.

Let’s Keep In Touch

Hey, it’s good  to see you. It’s been a while. How have you been? I’ve meant to call you or come by and see you, but I’ve been so busy. Maybe we can get together soon. I’d love to catch up and enjoy some time together. I do miss talking with you, so let’s reconnect soon. Have you had this kind of interaction with someone lately? It’s easy to let things go over time. You know what else is like this? Prayer. God wants to hear from you just like an old friend, but he’s more than a friend to those that love Him. So, catch up with God. Talk to him daily. Start a prayer with him right now. God knows you heart and how long it’s been . He’s always happy to hear from you.

Sundays in April

Good Friday?

Good Friday? Our own goodness isn’t enough to earn or obtain that which is beyond ourselves. Therefore, Jesus Christ came and died for you and for me one Friday centuries ago. His blood still matters. His sacrifice still saves!

You’re Welcome

Hey, how’s it going? Come on in. We’ve been waiting for you. We’re so happy you’re here. Take your coat off and stay awhile. Doesn’t it feel so good to be an honored guest in someone’s home? You know that the home owner welcomes you with great delight and joy. They are happy to receive you there and may even say to you “make yourself at home.” However, many people in our community don’t have that same experience. They haven’t received that kind of welcome in a while. They are wondering if they are welcome anywhere. Jesus Christ taught us not to show favoritism based upon a person’s wealth, appearance, status, or accomplishments. All are welcome in his house especially those of you who have not received such a welcoming in a while. In fact, we invite you personally for a homecoming with us at the George Street Church of Christ. We hope to see you on a Sunday real soon.

Jesus Christ and the alternative

Today I would like you to consider the word “alternative.” Have you considered the alternative? There’s always an alternative to almost every choice that we make in life. There’s good and there’s bad. There’s wise and there’s foolish. There’s reward and consequence. What about your life? Have you considered the alternatives? I hope today that you will consider Christianity as a way of living for your life. The other alternatives are many, but Christianity is the best. Maybe you’ve tried the other ways of living. God promises dead ends with those. Choose to follow Jesus. Make him Lord and Savior of your life today. This alternative brings promise and peace.  So, what’s your alternative? I encourage you to consider them and make the right choice.
